My pets my medicine!

I have a 4 year old toy poodle named Scarlett and I just recently got a new puppy. Her name is Ruby and she is a 6 month old yorkie-poo. They share our home with my husband and I and our cat Ava. My pets make me so happy and I know they reduce my stress. I have a cronic-illness and my days are filled with uncertainty. I never know how I will feel or be one day to the next. What I do know is that my pets need me and bring me comfort. That in itself reduces my stress. They keep me active and give me unconditional love. Just holding them calms me and I know that has to help. They help me with my greif with regards to not having children. Although I'm acutely aware that it's not the same having them gives me a maternal outlet. I have learnt to be grateful and make my own happiness. Having my pets fills my heart with both! I call them my medicine!
