Yoga for Back Pain

Yoga for Back Pain

Back pain can be something that is experienced only occasionally or it can be a chronic condition. It can be caused by and brought on by many different things including stress.

Yoga may very well be a key in helping you return your back to health. It can strengthen and stretch the muscles in your back as well as your spine. It can also improve your posture which can greatly improve some back problems. In addition, Yoga can strengthen your entire core which helps to support your spine and your back. Many people don't realize that strong muscles in their abdomen are essential for lower back health.

In addition to these benefits, Yoga also helps to create a sense of calm and overall well being reducing the tension that you carry in your back and shoulders.

If you're new to Yoga, it's very important that you take the time to learn proper form as well as what exercises and poses are right for you. This is especially true if you suffer from back pain. While there are many poses that are excellent for back pain, there are some that could make the condition worse.

Be sure that you've talked to your doctor about how yoga could benefit you.

Personally speaking, I am a chronic back pain sufferer. After years of inactivity and not getting any better, my doctor and I decided to try the opposite approach and I began using many different exercises to strengthen my back and my core. This has had a profound impact on my pain levels and keeps me feeling great.

One of my favorite ways to relieve the pain and tension in my back is with the guided Yoga and Meditation from the Mayo Clinic Wellness Solutions for Back Pain DVDicon. I usually put this in every night before bed and will notice a huge difference in my quality of sleep as well as how quickly I fall asleep.

Trying Yoga for back pain just might be the solution you're looking for!
